SDPI moves EC against Prime Minister Modi over poll code violation; complaint filed

A complaint has been filed with the Chief Election Commissioner against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The SDPI unit of Kerala has moved the EC, citing violation of MCC by PM Modi during an election rally held on April 2nd. The SDPI has now sought the poll panel's intervention in this matter. The SDPI state secretary stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi incited religious sentiments during his campaign rally. SDPI state secretary also adds that the CEC in 2019 made it clear that the Sabrimala Temple issue cannot be used as a pitch during the Lok Sabha elections.
