SC Refers Triple Talaq Case to Constitution Bench, Hearing in May

SC has declared instant triple talaq unconstitutional. What does this mean, and what do people have to say about it?
  1. A Supreme Court bench on 30 March, referred the triple talaq matter to a Constitution bench.
  2. The bench, led by Chief Justice JS Khehar and Justice DY Chandrachud, said the hearing in the case will start from 11 May.
  3. In a written submission to the Supreme Court, on Monday, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had said that the practices of triple talaq falls outside the realm of judiciary.
