The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre on the scrapped Section 66A of IT act, which was removed six years ago expressing shock over the fact that it is still in use. The controversial provision made posting offensive material on social networking sites an offence punishable by up to three years in jail. The apex court asked cops across states to ensure that no case is filed under this law.
