San Francisco Bay Area NRIs demonstrate support for Indian farm laws by car rallies

On Sunday, the non-resident Indians (NRIs) of the San Francisco Bay Area organised a car rally to demonstrate support for the Indian government's agricultural legislation.

The car rally was held at the San Jose High School Mission parking lot at 1:30 p.m. (EST). Several NRIs entered the car rally to demonstrate support for the farm legislation. In support of India's new farm laws, the United States had earlier come out, saying it welcomes measures that will "improve the efficiency" of Indian markets and attract greater investment from the private sector. A State Department spokesperson said in response to the ongoing farm protests in India that Washington recognises that "peaceful protests are a hallmark of any thriving democracy" adding that disagreements between the parties can be addressed through dialogue.
