Samsung Galaxy A80 with 48MP rotating triple camera launched in India: Price, specifications
Samsung has launched the Galaxy A80 in India. The smartphone made its debut a couple of months ago in Thailand and is now officially in India. The Galaxy A80 is the company's most premium offering under the Galaxy A series as it touts a notchless New Infinity display and a 48MP rotating triple camera setup, both of which have been introduced for the first time on the Galaxy A80.
The Galaxy A80 has been launched in India priced at Rs 47,990 in a single variant that offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Galaxy A80 will go on sale starting August 1 across retail stores in India, e-Shop, Samsung Opera House and major leading online channels. Customers can also pre-book the Galaxy A80 between July 22 and July 31. The Galaxy A80 will be available in three colours - Ghost White, Phantom Black and Angel Gold.
Customers who pre-book the Galaxy A80 can also avail a one-time screen replacement offer. Launch offers also include 5 per cent cashback on Citibank credit cards.
Samsung Galaxy A80 specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A80 is the company's first smartphone to come with the New Infinity display. The Galaxy A80 offers an edge-to-edge notchless screen for an immersive viewing experience. It sports a large 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and supports an in-display fingerprint sensor.
In order to offer a notch-free display, Samsung has opted for a unique camera solution. The triple camera setup on the back of the Galaxy A80 rises up and rotates to the front when using the selfie camera. This means you will be able to use the same set of high-quality triple camera for both general photography and selfies.
The triple camera system includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 f/2.0 primary camera, an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra wide-angle camera and ToF (Time of Flight) camera for depth mapping. The camera supports 4K UHD video recording, Super Steady mode, scene optimiser and Night mode, among other things.
The Galaxy A80 is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 730G chipset. The SD730G offer a slightly better GPU compared to the regular Snapdragon 730 chip. This is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Galaxy A80 houses a 3,700mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging over Type-C. The phone also comes equipped with Samsung Pay that is secured by Samsung Knox.
