Saif Ali Khan’s Kaalakaandi To Get Pushed Because Of Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati?

Here's what Saif Ali Khan has to about Kaalakaandi and Padmavati

Saif Ali Khan is all set to amaze us with a brand new role filled with comedy, drama and suspense all at once. Saif’s next film Kaalakaandi is a perfect flick for those who are bored of clichéd romance, drama or action. What happens when the set of different people collide on one eventful night? Kaalakaandi happens! The trailer is quite interesting filled up with too many people and too many things, making us pause for a moment. However, the release date of the film is now hanging in the middle of air, thanks to Deepika Padukone– Shahid Kapoor- Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavati.

Saif Ali Khan recently opened up to a daily saying that the release of Kaalakaandi largely depends upon Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati’s release. The controversy surrounding this period drama is no more a new thing and everyone (including the makers themselves) is waiting for the big release. After the curiosity built up around Padmavati, the crowd is just going to thrive upon the chance of watching it as soon as it releases. This may hamper Kaalakaandi to an extent. Thus, Saif said, “If Padmavati comes in (on that day), we will think of shifting our release date. I hope we don’t have to do that. Kaalakaandi is a film I am proud of.” Further he added, “It would have been nice to see Kaalakaandi releasing with Padmavati, as it shows that we have a film industry which makes a different kind of movies. Recently, we saw Secret Superstar and Golmaal Again releasing on the same day and both films did well. Personally, I feel it’s good time to have films releasing alongside one another. But filmmakers are wary about it and you need to take that into consideration.” Saif Ali Khan chosses to play safe and we don’t blame him at all. What are your views?
