Sachin Tendulkar Promotes PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Movement in Mumbai

“I can’t believe there is so much litter around. I request people not to throw garbage in the open and use dustbins,” Tendulkar said.

New Delhi: Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday took part in a cleanliness drive in Mumbai’s Bandra West area to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special initiative ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’.

Tendulkar early in the morning cleaned the surroundings and then took to Twitter to promote the initiative.

“We each have to do our bit to keep #IndiaClean. So, pick a group of friends, a street, and together let’s #CleanUp India. #SwachhataHiSeva,” Tendulkar wrote besides uploading a video of him talking to the media.

“I can’t believe there is so much litter around. I request people not to throw garbage in the open and use dustbins,” Tendulkar said.

“I request people once again as part of clean India movement not to throw garbage around. It is a responsibility of every citizen to clean the mess and keep over motherland clean,” he added.

Few days back, Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane supported ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ initiative as well after he received a special invite from the PM Modi for being a part of the movement.

 

To celebrate the Swachh (clean) Gandhi Jayanti, PM Modi has urged people to take part in ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ activities from September 15 to October 02.
