Row over loudspeakers for Aazan; Karnataka Waqf board issues revised circular

A fresh row had erupted after the Karnataka state board of Waqf issued a circular to all mosques and dargahs in the state to not use loudspeakers between 10 pm and 6 am. The circular stated that the ambient noise level around these structures has an impact on human health and the psychological well-being of people. It is reported that no loudspeakers are allowed to be played at night now. The guidelines were issued by Karnataka State Pollution Control body. SDPI on the other hand wants the order to be revoked. ‘It is the responsibility of all the institutions and the departments’, said an official. Waqf Board has now revised its circular saying that loudspeakers will be allowed for Azaan. This has come in contradiction to the minister Anand Singh who had earlier mentioned that no loudspeaker will be allowed for Azaan during any part of the day. Watch the video to know more!
