Ronaldo always gives his best, says Juventus team-mate De Sciglio

Cristiano Ronaldo is the model of professionalism and has given his all every day since arriving at Juventus, according to team-mate Mattia De Sciglio.

The Portuguese star joined the Serie A champions from Real Madrid in July following almost a decade of service in the Spanish capital where he won virtually every domestic and international honour.

The 33-year-old has so far adapted well to life in Turin under Massimiliano Allegri, with the club firmly poised to make it eight Scudettos on the trot as they sit atop the league table.

Full-back De Sciglio has expressed admiration for Ronald, four months into his career with the club, adding that he is fully committed to delivering the strongest performances for the side.

“I [see] him practicing like a professional every day,” the 26-year-old told Sky Sport, as reported via Tuttosport. “[He is] always doing his best.”

De Sciglio, who followed Allegri from Milan after signing for the Bianconeri at the beginning of the 2017-18 season, also praised the manager for his influence throughout the dressing rooms at the club, and how he brings the best out of individuals.

“The coach gives me a lot of confidence,” he added. “When you go on the pitch, it is important to know that the coach and your team-mates appreciate what you do.

“I feel like an important player, as we all are in this locker room. We have lots of games and we need everyone’s help and support.

“I hope to be able to give my contribution until the end of the season.”

De Sciglio has been on international duty with the Italian team over the past few weeks, with the Azzurri missing out on progression to the Nations League finals after Ronaldo’s Portugal held them to a goalless draw.

They did claim a win over the USA in a friendly in Belgium thanks to a late goal from Matteo Politano, but the defender stressed that they did not treat the encounter lightly.

“Beating the United States was very important for the [world] ranking. There are no friendly matches in the national team, they are all very important.

“We had to find the victory after the last performances, where we have always shown to be growing but where we have had difficulty finding the goal.”
