India’s stand-in captain Rohit Sharma is just 11 runs away from overtaking regular skipper Virat Kohli on the most runs for Indian in T20Is list. Rohit is currently second on the list and has thus far scored 2092 runs from 85 matches. Kohli, on the other hand, has scored 2102 and has played just 62 matches. Interestingly, Rohit has the most number of centuries for India in T20Is. The right-hander has slammed three centuries while KL Rahul has two and Suresh Raina one. Kohli, as of now, is yet to score a T20I century but has 18 half-centuries against his name, the most by an Indian batsman.

On the overall list of most runs in T20Is, Rohit is placed fifth. New Zealand’s Martin Guptill leads the list with 2271 from 75 matches while Pakistan’s experienced batsman Shoaib Malik is second with 2190 from 108 matches. Former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum is placed third with 2140 runs from 71 matches.
