Former world number one in men’s singles Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have become teammates for Laver Cup 2018. As if the excitement to catch the duo as doubles partners were not enough, they are winning hearts with their fun camaraderie. A video of Djokovic was making cute awkward faces after accidentally hitting his doubles partner Federer is doing the rounds on the social media. The incident took place during the Laver Cup men's doubles match when Swiss-Serbian pair representing Team Europe played Team World’s pair of Jack Sock and Kevin Anderson. Laver Cup is an international tournament taking place between two teams – Team Europe and Team World comprising of non-European players in the side. The funny incident took place during the men’s doubles match on Novak’s service. American tennis player Jack Sock quickly hit a return, something neither the reigning US Open champion nor Federer anticipated. Well, can’t blame the duo as the singles greats clearly lacked the experience of doubles game. So, in a hurry to send the ball back, Djokovic accidentally ended up hitting Roger Federer’s back!

Laver Cup on their official Twitter handle shared the fun video captioning it as, “Well, that was AWKWARD 😳”. You can see the funnyman of tennis giving a series of expressions before burying his face in his hands. But Novak quickly made up for his mistake by giving a good ‘back rub’ to Federer. Who could say these two are the fiercest of rivalries and share 34 grand slams between them.
Coming back to their doubles match, Federer-Djokovic’s pair was defeated by Sock and Anderson 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 (10-6) in a hard-fought battle. The win earned Team World their first point in Laver Cup 2018. However, at the end of Day 1, Team Europe was well ahead of their opponents with a 3-1 lead after Belgium's David Goffin beat Argentina's Diego Schwartzman 6-4 4-6 (11-9).
