Over the past few months, thirteen girls battled it out in the contest to become India’s Next Top Model – Season 3 and we finally have a winner. It is none other than Riya Subodh, who has been winning the hearts of millions with her simplicity, charm and stunning personality. Riya hails from Ahmedabad and was known for her honesty and consistent performances throughout the season. Her journey from a small town girl with big dreams resonated with many. Though a few contestants took a jibe at her ‘gujju accent’ and called her a drama queen, Riya’s performances at every photoshoot were enough to silence the critics. India’s Next Top Model was aired on MTV since October this year. This season, Malaika Arora was the host and head judge, while actor Milind Soman joined photographer Dabboo Ratnani on the judging panel. Anusha Dandekar and grooming expert Neeraj Gaba were the mentors on the show. Since the very first round, Riya came across as one of the most entertaining and talented contestants on the show. She comes from a conservative background, but her parents supported her in her passion to become a top model. Some co-contestants called her ‘garba behen’ and ‘drama queen’, but nothing deterred Riya. Be it during the bikini round, a bald photoshoot or a photoshoot with Malaika Arora, Riya excelled in every challenge.

Sabita Karki and Shweta Raj were the first and second runner-ups of India’s Next Top Model. Post her win, Riya reportedly said that the biggest highlight for her was the photoshoot with “Milind Sir and Malaika Ma’am”. She adds that when she took part in the show, she knew it will change her life forever. It sure enough has!

Prior to the grand finale, the top three contestants – Riya, Shweta and Sabita – shot for the OPPO 2018 calendar, the theme of which was family portraits. Danielle Canute and Pranati Prakash won the Season 1 and Season 2 of India’s Next Top Model respectively. As a winner of the third season, Riya reportedly gets a one year assignments contract with MTV.
