Rhea Chakraborty has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court today. Rhea has been granted bail and is liable to pay a bond of Rs 1lac. However, the other accused have been denied bail, including Basit Parihar and Dipesh Sawant. Lawyer Ravi stated that it is only after reading the verdict, that he can comment as to why the bail has been denied. Although the lawyer also adds that NCB has made it clear that section 27 of the NDPS act is a non-bailable offence.
However, Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty has been denied bail. Rhea's lawyer has also stated that three accused have been granted bail. All the three accused have to pay a fine of Rs 50,000, have to come down to the police station to mark their presence and also have been asked to submit their passports. The accused cannot travel outside of Mumbai without prior approval.
