Baahubali 2 has opened to a stupendous success this weekend and of course fans can’t stop talking about the awe-inspiring graphics, the thrilling plot twists and the amazing performances. The actors Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya and Tamannah Bhatia, as well as the master storyteller and director of the film SS Rajamouli are winning many praises for the stellar film that will go down in the history of Indian cinema as one of the greatest films ever made. But amidst all this, there is something else that is also attracting a lot of buzz and that is the astounding toned bodies of the two lead protagonists- Prabhas and Rana.
Both the hero and the villain sported enviably ripped bodies in both the films of the movie franchise. Rana’s fitness trainer Kunal Gir recently spilled the beans on what it takes to attain a body like the actor and it’s not going to please those looking for an easy ride. Speaking to indianexpress.com about how he trains actors to get fit, Gir said, “Body building can be a canvas through which people can see their true self. “The transformation helps them to become more effective and productive in other parts of their life as well. Sacrifice bad habits, unnecessary socializing and be dedicated to a plan — all these virtues are extremely essential before you begin!” Gir has been with many South Indian actors through their body transformation journey and some of the actors he has trained include Tamannaah Bhatia, Rakul Preet Singh and Sudheer Babu, besides of course Rana Daggubati. The first step to getting anywhere close to fulfilling your body goals is the understanding that pain is gain, says Gir. He also advises dogged persistence. “My advice to a newcomer who wants to build a physique after seeing Daggubati’s body in Baahubali 2, would be to try to go to the gym for 6 months. That’s the first commitment you need to make”, Gir told Indian Express. He warned people against hoping to see changes within a month or two and said that it requires a lot of relentless hard work, both to attain and maintain a body like Daggubati. Kunal Gir said that people shouldn’t confuse a slim body with a fit body, adding that fitness comes out of making the body strong, not lean. He advises people to start increasing their stamina slowly and gradually. “I would recommend sprinting – run like you used to run in school. Slowly walk back and run again. Do these small things every other day and it will dramatically improve your stamina”, Indian Express quoted him as saying. Gir also stressed the importance of a balanced diet in the body building game. ALSO READ: Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in Baahubali 2: 10 times lead actors of Baahubali gave us major fitness goals
“I recommend everyone to eat proteins and vegetables. Milk proteins are a must for every human being. Whether you want to be a body builder, or don’t want to be. These are two things your body needs for optimum health”, Gir told Indian Express. He advised people to stay away from fruits as they have a lot of natural sugars and instead get a load of a lot of protein-based foods and vegetables. Gir has a mantra for a healthy diet: Keep away from packaged foods and only eat natural foods. So now you know how much effort and perseverance has gone into the making of Bhallal Dev. Time to hit the gym, isn’t it?
