Resignations plague Congress in Puducherry ahead of Rahul Gandhi's visit

Months before the State Assembly Polls, the Congress Government has lost its majority in Puducherry as more and more MLAs are resigning from the party. 4 MLAs have submitted their resignation, out of which two submitted in the last two days and the party in Puducherry if left with only 14 MLAs. A high-level meeting was conducted at the Congress party office in Puducherry as the opposition is continuously mounting pressure over the Chief Minister to give resignation. Sources reveal that Lieutenant Governor of Puducheery, Kiran Bedi might also be removed from her position. This political turmoil comes to light ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the State.
