71st Republic Day Parade: India displayed its military prowess and cultural diversity during the Republic Day parade at Rajpath in New Delhi on Sunday. Flypast by India Air Force fighter jets, and the newly acquired Apache helicopters enthralled the audience during 71st Republic Day parade. Daredevil acts displayed by all-woman bikers contingent of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) made its debut at the Republic Day parade and garnered huge applause from thousands of people seated on both sides of the Rajpath. Earlier, President Ram Nath Kovind unfurled the Tricolour which was followed by the National Anthem and booming 21-gun salute at Rajpath on 71st Republic Day. This year, Brazil President Jair Messias Bolsonaro was the Chief Guest for Republic Day celebrations. Earlier in the morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to people of the country on the occasion of Republic Day. "Wishing everyone a happy Republic Day. Jai Hind!" he tweeted. He also paid tributes to jawans at the National War Memorial. The national capital was enveloped in unprecedented security cover for Republic Day. Personnel from Delhi Police and other central security forces were deployed to ensure that no untoward incident takes place. More than 20,000 security officials including traffic officials were deployed. CCTV cameras and face-recognition cameras were also installed at Rajpath.
