Remove Sacred Games scene of Saif Ali Khan throwing away kada, it insults Sikhs: Akali MLA Manjinder Sirsa

Delhi MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is a member of the Akali Dal, has slammed Netflix and Anurag Kashyap for a scene in the webseries Sacred Games in which Saif Ali Khan's character Sartaj throws away his 'kada' (a bangle that is a religious symbol for Sikhs).

Sirsa, who is an MLA from Rajouri Garden in Delhi, has demanded that the concerned scene in Sacred Games be removed immediately. The MLA has also threatened legal action if the scene is not removed at once.

Taking to Twitter, Manjinder Sirsa said, "I wonder why Bollywood continues to disrespect our religious symbols! Anurag Kashyap deliberately puts this scene in Sacred Games S2 where Saif Ali Khan throws his Kada in sea! A KADA is not an ordinary ornament. It's the pride of Sikhs & a blessing of Guru Sahib."

"Why was the main character made Sikh if you didn't do any research on the identity of Sikhs & how 5 kakaars (including Kada) are quintessential for Sikhs."

He added, "I demand removal of this scene asap or we will take legal action against the production team."

In the scene that has irked Sirsa, Saif Ali Khan's character Sartaj, who is a Sikh police officer, throws away his kada in rage while standing in front of the Mumbai sealink.

Sirsa had raised objections to Sacred Games Season 1 as well.

The popular webseries launched on Netflix last week and was received with mixed reactions. While some lauded the story line and ending, many were not happy with the second season's progress.
