New Delhi, December 6: Giving a tough competition to rival telcos, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has once again topped the charts of 4G Download Speed. According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) MySpeed data, Vodafone and Idea have shown a great improvement while Airtel has drastically gone down in providing 4G speed. Reports state that both, Vodafone and Idea has beaten Airtel in 4G download speed.  When it comes to 4G download speeds, TRAI’s MySpeed app data for the month of October shows that Jio has achieved a download speed of 21.9Mbps followed by Vodafone with a download speed of 8.7Mbps. The download speed of Idea Cellular was reported to be 8.6Mbps and Airtel with 7.4Mbps.

As per TRAI’s MySpeed data, in terms of upload speed, Idea Cellular grabs the first position with a 6.4Mbps followed by Vodafone with 5.9Mbps, Reliance Jio with 4.1Mbps and Bharti Airtel with 3.5Mbps. Reports state that Vodafone ruled the speed in the 3G domain with an average download speed of 3.5 Mbps. The telco was over Airtel which managed to clock 2.9 Mbps speed.

TRAI’s MySpeed app was launched in 2016 to allow the telecom regulator to monitor as well as release network speed reports on a monthly basis. TRAI’s report is based on the data it collects through the MySpeed mobile application from users in real-time. It has to be noted that users have to install the app on their phones to check the speed of the telecom operator.

As per PTI reports, Reliance Jio recorded an all-time high average 4G download speed of 21.9 megabits per second on its network in September. , According to the Trai data, the speed was over 2.5 times faster than that on rival Vodafone’s network.  The reports further added saying that the 4G download speed on Reliance Jio network increased from 19.3 mbps at the end of August to all-time high of 21.9 mbps in September.
