Refugees from West Pakistan celebrate J&K voting & thank Modi led government for a new change

For the first time in seven decades, west Pakistan’s refugees will vote in a Jammu and Kashmir local election following the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. The state election commission announced elections to the district development councils which will form the third tier of Panchayats and by-elections to Panchayats and urban local bodies. People were seen expressing happiness and were thanking the Modi led government. West Pakistan’s refugees took to the streets dancing and playing drums.

The very first time, the push-in Kashmir, a festival of democracy will be celebrated there. DDC’s Zila level elections will be held from November 20th with 8 phases where refugees from West Pakistan will be voting for the first time.
