Hulu has released the first official trailer for Little Fires Everywhere, a new drama series starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.
Based on the book of the same name by Celeste Ng, the show follows a rich suburban mother and wife (Witherspoon as Elena), who invites town newcomer Mia (Washington) to be her maid, after noticing she's living in her car with her daughter.
The trailer teases some racial tension between the two characters, with the topic of white privilege playing a major role in the drama.
The little fires are constantly building in this not-so-perfect slice of suburbia, and a flash-forward reveals it will culminate in a literal fire that destroys Elena's house.
"Elena, someone burned down your house with you inside. Do you know anyone that would do this?" asks a police officer.
Themes of secrecy, motherhood and identity will be major components to this one, so be prepared for an intense experience when the show finally rolls around.
Hulu has ordered eight episodes of Little Fires Everywhere, which will premiere on the streaming service on March 18.
