Real Madrid remain at the top of the points table despite the surprise draw against Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid were expected to extend their lead by a comfortable margin as they took on Atletico Madrid at their home The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium but were eventually held to a 1-1 draw. What was surprising was that Real gave away the lead after dominating the scoreline for most of the match. As far as the goals went, Pepe put Real ahead in the 52nd minute but the lead was conceded when Antoine Griezmann scored in the 85th minute.

It is perhaps a respectable result for Atletico who were wary ahead of this big Saturday clash. Ahead of the match, Juanfran of Atletico had spoken about his team’s chances. He was quoted to be saying by Reuters, “It’s clear they were better than us in that game (the last time the two teams played before Saturday) but now it’s another story, a different moment. I hope we can stay on this great run and get something positive, although we know it’ll be difficult because they are top and are having an incredible season.”

He further added, “We had a bad run around November and December and that has made us stronger and we’ve shown once again that Atletico always rises against adversity.” Also check-Cristiano Ronaldo shares naked photoshoot with fans
