Ranbir Kapoor Not Approached By Airlift Director For His Next Fictional Thriller Drama
Ranbir Kapoor‘s last few films, except Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, failed to impress the audiences and the Box Office. However, his ability to juggle with films from different genres and his versatility have been greatly lauded by the audiences and fans. He is known to be extremely selective of his films and will only choose those which he feels is challenging enough. As of now he has Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic and Ayan Kukerji’s Brahmastra lined up which are both diametrically different from each other. And now the latest buzz in the industry is that he has signed another project with Airlift and Chef‘s director, Raja Krishna Mohan.
A source close to the development was quoted by DNA as saying, “Raja Krishna Menon is planning a film with Ranbir Kapoor. He’s working on the script currently. The actor and the director are yet to meet and take the discussion forward.” Raja on the other hand told the leading daily that he is planning a fictional thriller-drama but that he hadn’t approached anyone leave alone Ranbir . “The first draft of the film is ready. I do have a few actors in mind but I don’t want to name anyone right now. I haven’t approached anyone. We plan to begin shooting sometime around end-summer next year.” (ALSO READ: All Good Between Ranbir Kapoor And Rajkumar Hirani On The Sanjay Dutt Biopic)
About Ranbir joining the film, he stated, although hesitatingly, that he had not approached Ranbir for the film. “Ranbir is a fantastic actor. I would love to work with him. He makes some interesting choices. I haven’t offered him the film yet. He’s busy with Brahmastra right now. We had planned to meet, not for a film or anything, but just to catch up and know each other. We don’t know each other at all. We just wanted to meet and discuss what space he would like to be in. But right now, if you ask me, there’s nothing which has been discussed with him.”
