Known as the “greatest showman of Hindi cinema” he was also a musician, director and editor. Born on December 14, 1924, the actor left a mark on Hindi cinema and will be known for the characters he played on-screen. He is not known only in India, Raj Kapoor and his movies are well-known across the world. Raj Kapoor was born in a Pathan-Hindu family in Peshawar to Prithviraj Kapoor and Ramsarni Devi Kapoor. He debuted as a child artiste in Inquilab at the age of 11 years. Ten years later he played a lead with Neel Kamal opposite Madhubala. He is known for his movies including Shree 420, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Bobby and Mera Naam Joker.
