Guwahati, Aug. 28: A few brilliant saves by NF Railway SC glovesman K. Bijen Singh, coupled with a spectacular goal by striker Jelendra Brahma, denied Sunrise Athletic Club a much-needed win to be in contention for the title in the Abhishek Motors R.G. Baruah Trophy Guwahati Super Division Football tournament.

In the last match of the first leg, the railmen edged past Sunrise by a solitary goal to be placed second in the tally with 15 points, equivalent to toppers Dynamo Club but lagging behind in goal difference. While Dynamo have scored 13 goals and conceded five, NF Railway have netted eight and conceded seven.

Brahma scored the only goal today in the 68th minute with a curving flagkick from the left flank that hit straight on the second post to be deflected into the net.
