Puneeth Rajkumar's Kannada film Raajakumara, which was released on Friday, March 24, opened to good reviews, and is off to a good start at the Sandalwood box office. The movie has become the biggest opener of 2017 so far and has also been declared as the highest grosser on the first day for the Power Star of Sandalwood.
Raajakumar was released in about 300 screens in Karnataka. Cashing in on the hype, the distributors and exhibitors held special morning shows in leading centres, which helped the movie to do wonderful business on the opening day.
Sharing his excitement, Karthik Gowda, the executive producer of Raajakumara, said, "The response is outstanding for the film across the state. I cannot pinpoint one place where it has not been received well. It has garnered unanimous positive reviews."
He added that he has decided not to reveal the figures. "I do not want to boost up my movie by giving inaccurate numbers or create wars between fans of two stars. Hence, I have decided not to reveal the number," he said.

However, he confidently says that the movie has turned out to be the biggest hit of the year and of Puneeth Rajkumar's career so far. "With tremendous response for the advance booking it will do a great business for sure," Karthik Gowda says.
The movie has been declared as a family entertainer by the audience as well as critics. As a result, Raajakumar is expected to do a roaring business during the weekend. Taking the advance booking into consideration, the Kannada movie is set to make a whopping collection during its opening weekend.
Raajakumara is written and directed by Santhosh Ananddram and produced by Vijay Kiragandur.
