1. Rahul Attacks PM Over His Silence in Nirav Modi Case, CBI Intensifies Probe
Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his silence on the Nirav Modi fraud case.
In the meantime, the CBI has intensified the probe. They continued raids at jewellery outlets of the accused brands – Gitanjali and Nirav Modi – all over India, and sealed the Brady House Branch of PNB in Mumbai – which is where the fraudulent transactions took place. Then, they interrogated Nirav Modi's Firestar International Company CFO Vipul Ambani.
Meanwhile, Gitanjali Group's CFO Chandrakant Karkare and Company and Compliance Secretary Pankhuri Warange stepped down citing ethical issues.

2. Rotomac ‘Fraud’: CBI Files FIR Against Vikram Kothari, Wife & Son
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday, 19 February, filed an FIR against Chairman of Rotomac Pens, Vikram Kothari, a day after he categorically denied reports that he had "fled the country” over an alleged default on repayment of loans borrowed from seven public sector banks.
Vikram’s wife Sadhana Kothari, son Rahul Kothari, and unknown bank officials have also been named in the FIR filed based on a complaint from Bank of Baroda. The Enforcement Directorate has also filed a case against Kothari under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

3. Canadian PM Trudeau in India, Questions Raised Over Modi’s Airport Snub
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is on a week-long visit to India with his family. After visiting the Taj mahal on Sunday, 18 February, they landed in Ahmedabad on Monday, donning an Indian attire.
Political observers across the world were quick to point out that Prime Minister Modi did not receive his Canadian counterpart after his arrival, as he did in the case of Israeli PM, UAE Crown Prince or the US President.
