1. Anupam-Akshaye Steal the Show in ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’

The trailer of The Accidental Prime Minister has just been released. It stars Anupam Kher as ex-PM Manmohan Singh and Akshaye Khanna as Sanjaya Baru, who served as Singh’s media advisor and chief spokesperson between May 2004 and August 2008. The film is based on the book of the same name by Baru. The film has been directed by Vijay Gutte with Hansal Mehta as the creative producer.

The trailer offers a behind-the-scenes look at the UPA administration, especially the dynamic between Singh and Sonia Gandhi (Suzanne Bernert).

2. You Don’t Wanna Miss This Salman Khan-Sushmita Sen Dance-Off Video

Salman Khan turned 53 on 27 December and rang in his birthday with family and friends at his Panvel farmhouse. He cut a cake with the media and another one with nephew Ahil.

Bhai also ensured he and his guests had a swell time. If you need proof, check out this dance-off between Salman and Sushmita Sen, with whom he has worked in films like Biwi No 1, Sirf Tum, Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. The two are clearly fond of each other.

3. ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh’ Trailer Gears up for Syaapa in True Love

The trailer of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has been released. The Shelly Chopra Dhar-directed film will be releasing on 1 February 2019, and brings together Anil with daughter Sonam on screen for the first time. The film also stars Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla.

The trailer revolves around a typical Punjabi “happy” family with everyone trying hard to marry Sweety (Sonam) off. While she has no dearth of suitors, the trailer hints at a mystery which is at the heart of the syaapa in the path of true love, as Sonam’s character puts it. While Rajkummar is always a delight to watch, it’s Anil Kapoor who steals the show here with his straight-to-the-heart emotive range. Juhi Chawla adds a comic touch as well.

4. Actor Siddharth Calls Out ‘Thackeray’ Film as Anti-South Indian

The trailer of the Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray biopic, featuring Nawazuddin Siddqui in the lead, was released on Wednesday, 26 December. Titled Thackeray, the film is already courting controversy with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) having demanded certain cuts in the film, which writer and producer, Sanjay Raut, is refusing to comply with.

Now, Tamil and Telugu star Siddharth has also tweeted against the biopic’s anti-South Indian tone which is also reflected in the trailer.

“Nawazuddin has repeated 'Uthao lungi bajao pungi' (lift the lungi and *'#$ him) in the film #Thackeray. Clearly hate speech against South Indians... In a film glorifying the person who said it! Are you planning to make money out of this propaganda? Stop selling hate! Scary stuff!” - tweeted Siddharth mentioning a dialogue from the film, which is clearly against the South Indian community that had settled in Mumbai in the 1960s.

5. Miley & Liam Tie the Knot With the “One-Millionth Kiss”

Singer Miley Cyrus and actor Liam Hemsworth have tied the knot in a secret ceremony over the weekend before Christmas. They reportedly exchanged vows on 23 December at their home in Franklin, Tennessee surrounded by close friends and family.

A few pictures of the celebrations have been doing the rounds on social media. In one, Miley and Liam can be seen dressed in a traditional white dress and tuxedo, respectively. The couple later took to social media to confirm the news. Miley Cyrus shared a picture of her kissing Liam with the caption. “This is probably our one-millionth kiss”.
