1. 8-Year-Old Girl Gang Raped, Strangulated to Death in Bihar
An eight-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by two men, raped and then killed in Hisua police station area of Nawada district on Monday, the police said, adding they have detained two suspects.
According to police, the girl was abducted around 1.30 am when she was asleep along with her family members in their shanty. Her uncle, a labourer, noticed she was missing when he woke up and lodged a police complaint.
The girl was later found dead in a deserted place in the same locality after one of the suspects, caught by members of the local Bhim Army, revealed the name of other suspect and the place where the minor’s body was thrown. Both suspects were handed over the police.

2. Pune Man Held for Abetting Wife’s Suicide Over Dowry
A 35-year-old mechanical engineer was arrested in Pune on Sunday for allegedly pushing his wife to kill herself for not giving in to his dowry demands.
Police said Sindhu Shinde was found hanging from the ceiling of her residence on Saturday.
In his police complaint, her father, Panjabrao Dattatray Deshmukh, said his son-in-law, Namdev Nagurao Shinde, was demanding 15 lakh to buy a flat. He alleged his daughter was forced to starve on multiple occasions when she did not get money from her family.

3. Cong Leader Arrested After Student Lodges Molestation Complaint
A former Congress lawmaker and Rajura municipal council president were arrested Tuesday after a complaint of molestation was lodged against them by a student of a nursing college in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, the police said.
The Congress leader is identified as former lawmaker Subhash Dhote and the municipal council president as Arun Dhote. Subhash is president of Rajura-based Kalyan Nursing Educational Institution in which the woman was a student while Arun is its secretary, a police officer said. Subhash and Arun are cousins.
The woman had alleged that the then principal had sought sexual favours from her last year, and when she refused she was ousted from the institution, said Rajura police station inspector BM Gaigole. The woman said Subhash failed to take action on her complaint against the then principal, and that she was ousted from the institution and hostel in October last year, he said.
4. TikTok Celebrity Shot Dead Near Delhi, Attackers Seen on CCTV
A social media celebrity was shot dead by three unidentified gunmen on Tuesday near Delhi. 24-year-old Mohit Mor, a fitness enthusiast, had half a million followers on popular video-sharing app TikTok and would frequently upload fitness videos on his TikTok and Instagram profiles.
Mor, who used to visit a gym in Najafgarh, was at a photocopy shop nearby to visit a friend at around 5 pm on Tuesday, when he was murdered.
He was sitting on a sofa at the shop, when three unidentified men, who were on a bike, entered the shop and pumped five bullets into him. A senior police officer quoted by news agency IANS however said 13 bullets were fired at him.
5. 20-Year-Old Specially-Abled Woman Raped in Maharashtra's Palghar
A 20-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly raped by an unidentified man in Palghar district of Maharashtra, police said today.
The offence came to light some days back when doctors found that she was pregnant, a police spokesperson said.
The victim was allegedly raped on several occasions in the last two-and-a-half months by the man at her home in Vasai area when her parents, who are labourers, went out for work, he said.
The man used to lure the victim by offering her biscuits and chocolates, the official said.
6. PG Owner’s Wife Alleges She Was Assaulted by Crowd
A PG owner’s wife was allegedly beaten up and assaulted by a group over a property dispute in Greater Noida Saturday. The woman has alleged that Noida Police refused to file an FIR, despite the family filing a complaint and approaching the SSP.
The complainant alleged that the incident took place Saturday afternoon when a group of around 40 people entered the PG run by her husband: “We run a PG on land leased out by a man who died a few months ago. There has been a property dispute ever since; it is pending in court. We have been harassed by his sons and other family members who want the land…”

7. Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Brazilian National
The Cuffe Parade police on Tuesday arrested a Mumbai resident on charges of sexually assaulting a 37-year-old Brazilian national.
According to police, the Brazilian national submitted a complaint with the police station a few days ago. Following an investigation, a man identified as Padmakar Nandekar has been named the accused. “He has been arrested under Section 376,” a police officer said.
The police officials maintained that the women did not file the complaint immediately after the incident. “Further inquiry in the matter is on. His statement will be recorded soon,” said a police official.

8. Woman, Lover Arrested for Killing Husband in Uttar Pradesh
Shamli police have arrested a woman, her lover and two others for allegedly beating her husband to death in the district's Khedi Kemru village, officials said on Monday.
The body of the deceased, Harish alias Sonu (31), was found in a drain on May 15, they said. Earlier, based on a complaint lodged by Harish's mother, police had arrested his brother-in-law, Shivam, and another relative, Mohit, for the murder.
Harish's wife, Shivani, had also been named in the complaint. It was found during investigation that Shivani was in a relationship with another man, Shibbu, and Harish objected to it, following which they decided to eliminate him, station house officer, Kotwali police station, Subhash Rathore said.
9. Assam Police Arrest 37 for Running Call Centre That Duped People in US
Assam police Tuesday busted a call centre racket and arrested 37 persons, including nine women, for allegedly duping a large number of people in the US.
A database of around seven lakh American citizens was seized from the office of Avenir call centre, which was operating from a rented house in Guwahati, clocking a revenue of over Rs 50 lakh per month, police said.
The money collected from the US nationals after duping them come through a "hawala network" from American soil to Guwahati with the help of brokers based in the two countries, Assam Additional Director General of Police (CID) L R Bishnoi told reporters here.
