Punjab Drug crisis: BJP stages protest, Police resorts to use of water canons to quell the stir

News from Punjab politics, where BJP is holding a protest on the issue of Drugs in Chandigarh. The Assembly elections are secluded to take place in the state next year, and the BJP has been alleging that Amrinder Singh's government has failed to control the drug situation in the state. During this protest, Policewomen have also been injured and water cannons have been used to quell the protest. The protesters were proceeding to gherao the Punjab Chief Minister's house, but the police have been trying to stop them by putting up barricades.
