A sales manager from Pune, Darshan Patil, got the shock of his life when Rs 87,000 from his bank account was stolen after he swiped his card to make a transaction of Rs 230 at Khalapur toll plaza on Saturday.

Pune, September 12: A sales manager from Pune, Darshan Patil, got the shock of his life when Rs 87,000 from his bank account was stolen after he swiped his card to make a transaction of Rs 230 at Khalapur toll plaza on Saturday. According to Mid-Day, when Patil made a transaction of Rs 230 at the toll plaza, he received the first message on his phone about the toll plaza. However, after a few hours, he received one more message that mentioned the purchase of Rs 20,000 made from his account. Patil was left in shock when he received six more such messages about transactions.

He has filed a complaint at Hadapsar police station in Pune. Patil said that he made his first transaction at the toll plaza at 6.27 pm and received the second message of Rs 20,000 taken from his account at 8.31 pm via his debit card.

He said that there isn’t any money left in his account now. Patil informed that he didn’t share his card’s PIN with the toll plaza workers and entered the code himself. He also didn’t receive any notification for a One Time Password (OTP) for any of the transactions made by his card.
