11 Mar 2021: PSG through to UCL's quarters at Barca's expense: Records broken

Paris Saint-Germain saw off a spirited Barcelona side to make it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League 2020-21 season.

After having won the first leg 4-1, PSG and Barca played out a 1-1 draw in Paris.

With a 5-2 aggregate score, the French champions eased through.

Barca were the better side in the second leg but couldn't break PSG's resistance.

Here's more.

Match: How did the match pan out?

Barca dominated the first half with Ousmane Dembele wasting some glorious chances.

Mauro Icardi was fouled next and PSG scored from the penalty spot.

Lionel Messi then scored a superb goal to equal the score.

However, he had a penalty saved before half-time.

PSG were much better organized in the second half and restricted the influence of Messi.

Mbappe: Brilliant Mbappe scripts these records

Mbappe scored his 25th Champions League goal at the age of 22 years and 80 days, becoming the youngest player to reach this total in the competition.

Notably, the record was previously held by Messi (22 years 286 days).

As per Opta, Mbappe has become the first player to score four times against Barcelona in a single Champions League campaign.
