New Delhi, Apr 29 (PTI) A man who was declared a proclaimed offender for not appearing in a court in an arms case, in which he is an accused, has been arrested, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, 47-year-old Satpal, who had affiliation to the Krishan Pahalwan gang, was arrested from Nangloi on Thursday, they said.
The accused, along with Krishan Pahalwan and Rajesh Nahari, had allegedly killed their arch-rival Naresh Pahalwan in Adarsh Nagar here in 1992. He was also arrested in a TADA case from Tilak Nagar in 1993, a police official said.
In 2004, Satpal was arrested by the Crime Branch for possessing a rifle. He had stopped appearing in the court for hearings of this case and was declared a Proclaimed Offender in 2012, police said.
“He had entered property business by purchasing disputed properties. From 2012, he had been residing in Kanwar Singh Nagar area of Nangloi. He avoided visiting his village Rohna,” DCP (Crime) Madhur Verma said.
