Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to be settling into their new life of financial independence quite nicely, but it looks as though they're not short of job offers - and apparently, one of them was for the Oscars, no less.
According to HELLO!, Harry and Meghan were "approached to present the award for Best Picture at this Sunday’s 92nd Academy Awards," but a source shares that "they were honoured by the request, but declined the invitation."
Not entirely surprising, but we are pretty gutted we won't be getting that red carpet moment.
Of course, it's not unheard of for the royals to walk the red carpet. Just last week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the BAFTAs together - and while we couldn't stop looking at the stunning white and gold dress that Kate Middleton wore, they did have an awkward moment at one point.
During the ceremony itself, Brad Pitt's co-star Margot Robbie read out Brad's acceptance speech on his behalf, after he won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Holding up the award and reading from a note Robbie told an audience that included the duke and duchess "He is gonna name this Harry because he is really excited about bringing this back to the States with him," before telling the crowd, "His words not mine..."
The joke references the recent decision by Harry and Meghan to step away from their royal roles and split their time between the UK and North America. Luckily, Wills and Kate appeared to take the joke well, and were seen smiling and clapping as the camera panned to them in the audience.
Not sure Harry and Megs are quite ready to face those types of jokes yet though, eh?
