In this snippet from the Prime Minister’s brief on World Environment Day, he interacts with farmers. He talks to Shid Arvind Kumar from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, over farmings and the issues faced on the ground. Ethanol plant and how it has benefited the farmers, also, becomes to talking point. Mr Arvind shares how the ethanol plant has lead to timely payment in the sugar production sector. Further on, PM Modi brings up organic farming and asks for Arvind’s views on it. He shares that he has already practising organic farming and using compost fertilisers to minimise the use of artificial chemicals. However, it’s not completely organic at the moment, as certain ingredients haven’t been matched with a replacement yet.
