In pretext of curing black magic, baba asks woman to send nude pictures
Another case of a faith healer trying to sexually exploit women on the pretext of warding off evil has caught the attention of Delhi police.
A 32-year-old college librarian from south Delhi has alleged that the man sought the photo of her private parts to ward off the effects of black magic on her since she had been facing trouble finding a suitable partner for herself.
Based on her complaint, officials at the Vasant Kunj (North) police station, have registered an FIR for sexual harassment under IPC Section 354 A. Cyber experts believe that the police should have also booked the accused under Information Technology Act.
The woman in her complaint has told police that she had visited a priest, around five months ago with her mother to show her kundali. “Somebody had recommended his name and told me he could help me find a suitable match for myself.
After performing a religious ceremony he assured that he would let me know as soon as he finds a suitable match for me,” she said.
A few days later, she received a call from the priest asking her to send a copy of her bio-data and a photograph on a particular number.
“Without asking any question, I did as was told. I did not know that I had invited trouble that would leave me scarred. A couple of days later, I received a call from the accused who drew a reference of the priest and said he could help me solve my problem,” said the FIR.
Speaking to Mail Today, the woman said: “He would ask uncomfortable questions like, if I am in a relationship with someone, or if I speak to a particular boy or if I have been touched by someone. I felt odd, but did not take it seriously. Eventually, he asked me to send him a photo of my left palm — seeing which he said that I was under the influence of black magic,” she said.
“He told me that he could ward off the evil without charging a penny. The next thing he asked for was the photo of my private parts. He also sent me a photo of a female genital as an example of how he wanted the photo to be sent.” This, according to the victim, went on for three months.
“I could not let him abuse other women. I did not inform my family thinking that they would want to bury the matter. I registered the FIR and then explained to my family what I had gone through,” the victim recalled.
