05 Feb 2021: Premier League, Chelsea beat Tottenham 1-0: Records broken

Chelsea won their second successive Premier League match under new boss Thomas Tuchel as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0.

This was the third successive clean sheet for the Blues under Tuchel as they moved to the sixth position in the standings.

For Spurs, this was a third successive loss as a furious Jose Mourinho criticized the referee.

Here are the records broken.

#TOTCHE: Chelsea get a crucial win in the London derby

Jorginho's first-half penalty was the difference in this tie. The penalty was awarded after Eric Dier clumsily fouled forward Timo Werner.

Spurs looked like a side devoid of ideas and it was a negative approach that saw them defend in their own half in the first 45 minutes.

Mourinho's no-risk strategy didn't work out as a better second-half accounted for nothing.

Records: Unwanted records for Jose and Spurs, Tuchel scripts this feat

As per Opta, Jose Mourinho has now lost back-to-back home league matches for the first time in his 327th such game.

Former PSG boss Tuchel became the first Chelsea manager to keep clean sheets in his first three matches in charge since Mourinho in August 2004.

Tottenham have now suffered three successive Premier League defeats for the first time since November 2012.

Opta stats: Mourinho's poor record against former side Chelsea continues

Tottenham have lost the previous three Premier League home games in which they've conceded the opening goal this season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have only lost one of their last 14 Premier League when scoring first (W11 D2).

Mourinho has not won any of his past seven games against former club Chelsea.

This is now his joint-longest winless run against an opponent in his managerial career.

Premier League: Lucky number 10 for Mendy and Jorginho

Chelsea goalie Edouard Mendy registered his 10th Premier League clean sheet in what was his 18th game in the competition.

As per Sky Sports, he is the second-fastest to 10 clean sheets for Chelsea after Petr Cech (15).

Jorginho's opener for Chelsea was his 10th Premier League goal. Notably, eight of them have been penalties.
