‘It’s Pranayama’: Indians React to NYT Article on Deep Breathing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi performs yoga along with thousands of others at a mass yoga session to mark the International Day of Yoga 2015. 

The New York Times article, titled "Why Deep Breathing May Keep Us Calm", describes how deep breathing results in good health. It took an elaborate study on mice in a lab for Stanford researchers to understand the benefits of deep breathing, which, by the way, India discovered long ago – thanks to yoga and our age-old Vedas.

And of course, Indians had a lot of things to say in reaction to the article.
