Hassan, Mar 22: Janata Dal (Secular) Hassan candidate Prajwal Revanna filed his nomination from Hassan DC office for the Lok Sabha polls on Friday.

JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda, CM HDKumaraswamy and PWD Minister HD Revanna were present at Hassan DC office. Prajwal Revanna, son of HD Revanna, is contesting from Hassan after his grandfather HD Deve Gowda vacated the seat.

Minister for Public Works H.D. Revanna and former Congress Minister B. Shivaramu, who had been bitter political enemies for four decades, were all smiles on Tuesday as they met and vowed to fight the Lok Sabha elections together. Mr. Revanna's son Prajwal is set to contest from Hassan constituency on JD(S) ticket.

Over the past few days, both father and son have been meeting leaders of the Congress, seeking their support in the elections.

Early this month, speaking at a public campaign held in Mudalahippe village in Holenarasipura taluk in the district, Deve Gowda, the incumbent MP, also said that his grandson Prajwal Revanna will be the JD(S) candidate from the constituency taking over from him.

"I have decided I will not stand for the elections from here," Deve Gowda told reporters. He, however, could yet contest for the JD(S) from the Bengaluru (North) constituency or the Mysuru-Kodagu constituency.
