Pradyuman murder: Did not kill him, was forced to confess, says Class 11 student
Minor accused in Pradyuman murder case has retracted his statement and said that he was forced to confess the crime.
The sensational Pradyuman Thakur murder case is getting murkier with each passing day. In a fresh twist, the accused Class 11 student has retracted his confession as reported by Hindustan Times.
The accused teenager told a team of officials from the CBI and a legal-cum-probation officer from the district child protection unit that he was forced to confess.
The boy reportedly said that he was beaten up by the investigators and they forcibly recorded his confession.
The teenager has further accused the CBI investigators of torturing and abusing him. On Monday, CBI officer and CPWO personnel Renu Saini visited the juvenile centre and spoke to the accused for nearly two hours.
The accused reportedly told that the CBI theory and the grounds of his arrest were completely different. He told the official that he did not murder Pradyuman and was forced to admit the crime.
Meanwhile, Pradyuman's family is planning to take the legal route to demand that the Class 11 student should be tried as an adult.
The family has also moved an application to the CBSE to derecognise Ryan International's Bhondsi branch. The board is yet to respond to the petition filed by the family.
Meanwhile, the CBI is seeking maximum punishment for the accused. If the Juvenile Justice Board establishes the case and analyses the mindset of the accused, he may be punished with life imprisonment.
However, if the accused is treated as minor, he will be sent to correctional home for three years.
On other hand, the CBI will soon question the school staff and management in connection with the tampering of evidence. The agency suspects that the evidence was tampered even before the Haryana Police reached the spot.
The minor accused was arrested by CBI on November 8. Following the arrest, the agency said that they were probing if there was an accomplice to the crime.
MINOR'S FATHER ALLEGES TORTURE
Earlier this week, the father of the accused told media persons that his son was innocent and that he was tortured by the investigators.
"My son is being tortured, he was hung upside down and brutally thrashed. He is completely innocent," said the father.
However, the CBI officials later denied the allegations made by the accused minor's father.
