Senior leader of Terai Madhesh Democratic Party (TMDP) Hridayesh Tripathi, has just completed a 45-day tour of several Terai districts and come to the conclusion that people of the region have mixed views about the elections proposed to be held in the middle of May this year. Tripathi also went to some of the districts of disputed province no. 2 where the disgruntled United Democratic Madhesi Front is demanding a redrawing of the province. He mostly observed the frustration among the people and traced out distinct reasons behind it. The government is attempting to appease the Madhesh-based parties and is planning to present a new draft of the amendment proposal in the parliament withdrawing the previous one which failed.
