Policemen followed RACE 2 cast in Istanbul

Now this was one incident that scared the daylights out of RACE 2 crew. Well, literally. This happened in Istanbul during the film's shoot and so scared were the cast members that it almost led to a brush with law.

Informs a source, "Saif Ali Khan was shooting at the outskirts of Istanbul along with Rajesh Khattar, who plays a true blue villain in the film. When they were through with the shoot, both actors went in the separate cars provided to them. Rajesh, who was also accompanied by his wife Vandana, headed back to their hotel. While it all seemed absolutely normal to begin with, what happened next was straight out a film. It is just that the thrills were a little too difficult to digest since they were taking place in real instead of reel life."

That's because at one of the busiest junctions in Istanbul, a car started following them and its four occupants started screaming at them to stop the car. Even before they could pause to contemplate what had really gone wrong, the other car overtook and forced them to stop.

"They started talking to Rajesh and other crew members in loud voice but since language was a huge issue, none could understand each other", the source continues, "Two of them then forcibly sat in their car while rest followed in their vehicle. Totally aghast with the sudden turn of events, RACE 2 folks felt that they had been kidnapped. This is when a call was made to the Line Producer who immediately got into action and made local Executive Producer talk to the supposed goons."

Thankfully for everyone involved, it turned out to be a happy climax as reality turned out to be something altogether different.

Confirms Rajesh, "We learned that these four men were actually policemen in plain clothes who wanted to seize the vehicle for plying without tourist permit. They actually didn't mean any harm to us. They duly dropped us at our hotel while taking the driver and car away with them. However it was not before giving us a scare of a lifetime."
