New Delhi, Apr 3 (PTI) Police today received a complaint about the sale of cow meat in Shahdara’s Gandhi Nagar area but it turned out to be that of buffalo.
A PCR call was made this morning about the sale of cow meat in Gandhi Nagar area. However, before things could have gone out of hand or panic would have gripped the area, police informed the veterinary doctors from East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), said a senior police officer.
The doctors confirmed that it was buffalo meat, she said.
As the meat was procured from illegal slaughterhouse, so the seller was slapped with a fine Rs 10,000.
