He said, "The person who was holding the children as hostage has been killed in an operation and all 23 children have been safely evacuated." "UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an award of Rs 10 lakhs for UP Police and its team that successfully carried out the operation. All personnel who took part in operation will be given certificate of appreciation," UP Additional Chief Secretary added. A man held 23 children as hostage at a house in UP's Farrukhabad. When police arrived for rescue, he opened fire and threw a hand grenade on them. The person had invited the children to his house, on his daughter's birthday.
