If there is one thing footballers have in common with fans during the coronavirus pandemic, it is that when it comes to hairstyles, they are all very much in the same boat.

With hair salons and barbers closed due to the UK lockdown, many have been forced into a DIY cut to prevent overgrown locks.

One of the popular techniques for men has been to plump for a buzzcut, using electric clippers. Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw was the latest star to take part in the trend, sporting a new shaven look for the first time when appearing on streaming platform Twitch.

Shaw joined Arsenal style icon Hector Bellerin in going for the 'one all over', while former Chelsea star Eden Hazard brought out his clippers and ended up with a drastic near-bald hair-do.

Manchester United winger Anthony Martial decided to go bold with the home makeover, clearing every single hair on his head to produce a sharp, clean-cut look.

His United team-mate Paul Pogba followed suit after appearing in a lockdown video chat showing off his new buzzcut.

The now-retired David Beckham, regarded as football's most famous style icon, also joined in on the act.

The former England captain would perhaps argue that he originally introduced the buzzcut over a decade ago, or at least perfected it, and the Inter Miami co-owner has joined the following once again with his latest look.

But which footballers has done the best job of shearing their locks?
