Poet-diplomat Abhay K to be guest editor of Enchanting Verses

New Delhi, Mar. 21 (ANI): The Enchanting Verses Literary Review, a prominent international e-magazine from India, has announced poet-diplomat Abhay K as the guest editor of its latest issue.

The latest edition XXII will focus on the contemporary Indian English poetry and will also feature essays as well as reviews of the newly published poetry collections of Indian poets. This particular issue of the magazine is an attempt to showcase the works of some of the best contemporary Indian poets.

Indian writing in English is mainly known in the field of fiction by authors such Salman Rushdie, Vikram Seth, Amitabh Ghosh etc. However there is a rich body of work by Indian poets whose works are considered of great literary value.

The Enchanting Verses Literary Review has featured many international poets such as Mateja Matevski, Liao Yiwu, Jayanta Mahapatra, Sidney Wade, Donald Revell, Tom Bradley Rae Desmond Jones, Martha Collins, Miguel Barnet, Diann Blakely, Charles Harper Webb, Malay Roy Choudhury, K. Satchidanandan, B. R. Dionysius, Taslima Nasrin, Kishwar Naheed and Nathalie Handal among others.

Founder and the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine is the Indian poet Sonnet Mondal and the Guest Editors for the previous issues include Marc Vincenz, Helene Cardona, Peycho Kanev and Sukrita Paul Kumar.

The magazine collaborated with the Stremez, the oldest surviving print magazine from Macedonia with view of having international literary exchange. This collaboration was initiated in 2010 by Sonnet Mondal and Jovica Eternijan from Macedonia and is still in operation.

Abhay K's poetry and essay have featured twice in the magazine in 2013 and 2014. He is an Indian poet-diplomat and has to his credit two memoirs and five poetry collections. His collection of poems The Seduction of Delhi has been published by Bloomsbury India.

He has been honoured with the SAARC Literary Award for his contribution to contemporary South Asian Poetry and nominated for the Pushcart Prize 2013. He has also featured in Forbes India's Author's list 2014. He is also the editor of CAPITALS- a poetry anthology on the capital cities of the world. (ANI)
