PM Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet later this year

A meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to take place later this year. A 2+2 meeting is also likely to be held between the two countries marking the 50th anniversary of the 1971 treaty. The development comes at a time when the two countries are collectively fighting the COVID-19 pandemic by collaborating over the production of the Sputnik V vaccine. The venue of the meeting as well as the date and time of the meeting between the two heads of state are still work-in-progress.
