Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of the Digital India scheme today, as the flagship initiative of the government completed six years. Minister of Law and Justice of India Ravi Shankar Prasad began the session with his address followed by PM Modi's speech and interaction. The initiative was launched with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The Digital India campaign was launched by the Government of India to ensure the Government's services are made available to citizens electronically by improved online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity or making the country digitally empowered in the field of technology.
