Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be continuing his tradition of celebrating Diwali with India's Jawans this year too. As per reports, the Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and the Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narvane could also accompany Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Narendra Modi had also appealed to the people of the country to light a Diya this Diwali to show solidarity on the eve of the festival to our Jawans. In his Mann Ki Baat; he had said, 'We must also remember the brave soldiers who are guarding our borders even in these festive times. We must celebrate only after remembering them. We must also light a lamp for these brave sons and daughters of Mother India.'
He also said, 'I also want to tell our brave soldiers, you may be at the borders but the entire nation is with you, praying for you. I also salute the families whose sons and daughters are guarding our borders. Every such person, who are not with their families due to national duties. I convey my deepest gratitude to them.
