India’s Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President-elect Joe Biden had a "very warm conversation". The two leaders exchanged views on the Indo-Pacific region, climate change and the role of healthcare, pharmaceuticals and particularly vaccines amid coronavirus pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Biden on his election and the president-elect extended warm Diwali greeting to the Indian leader and people of India.
'The President-elect noted that he looks forward to working closely with the prime minister on shared global challenges'. US President-elect Joe Biden also expressed his desire to strengthen and expand the U.S.-India strategic partnership.
