Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina in West Bengal's Shantiniketan on Friday. They will attend the convocation of Visva Bharati University and inaugurate the Bangladesh Bhavan within the campus. The Bangladesh Bhavan is a symbol of the cultural ties between the two countries. It features a museum that showcases Rabindranath Tagore's association with the country, the Liberation War of Bangladesh and Indo-Bangla relation. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also join the leaders at the event. PM Hasina is also scheduled to visit Netaji Bhawan in Kolkata, the ancestral home of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
